Are you new to U-Ravenna Co-op? If so, we recommend you start here.
Through the next few pages, we briefly cover the cooperative preschool experience within the North Seattle College Cooperative Preschool Program; the Google Shared Drive system we use to help us run our preschool; the preschool management system Jovial we use to help us better organize enrollment, tuition, and other essentials of our preschool; the guidelines for tuition, fundraising, and scholarship opportunities; an overview of our Health and Safety policies; our Daily Cleaning Duties; and the differences between our classes that are designed to give children more independence each year.
On the surface, our preschool is like any other. We have quality classes taught by amazing teachers. However, beneath the surface, our cooperative preschool has a lot more going on.
We use a lot of Google services to help us run our preschool. We’ve found that it’s a powerful way to communicate and collaborate.
We use the preschool management system Jovial to help us better organize enrollment, tuition, requirements, and other essentials of our preschool.
There are three financial obligations for every family in our preschool: monthly tuition, quarterly registration with NSC, and yearly fundraising. There are also scholarship opportunities.
We follow the Health and Safety guidelines outlined in the Risk Management Manual provided by NSC, as well as those from the Seattle Public School District.
We make sure the classroom is clean at the beginning and end of every class day since it is used as a community space by the Ravenna Collaboratory in the afternoons and evenings and on the weekends.
Our classes are designed to give children more independence each year, which means class structure and caregiver responsibilities change as children age.
