Spring Orientation

University-Ravenna Cooperative Preschool invites all returning and new incoming families to our Spring Orientation on Thursday, May 9th from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. We’ll introduce ourselves, discuss the upcoming school year, and choose coop jobs.

If you’re new to coop preschool, we invite you to come 15 minutes early, at 6:45 pm, to get acquainted with our preschool and with each other. While Spring Orientation is mandatory, this extra time is optional.

Coop preschools differ from traditional preschools and daycares in that they are run entirely by the enrolled families. Our parents work together with our teachers and our North Seattle College Parent Educators to create a fun and engaging environment for our preschoolers to learn and grow. Parents also hold volunteer administration jobs to keep the preschool running smoothly behind the scenes. Descriptions of each job were sent to all incoming families in a Spring Orientation email. Please reach out to us if you didn’t receive an email from us with job descriptions attached.

Please read through the job descriptions, even if you were in our preschool this past year, as there have been some changes. Job descriptions and more about how our coop preschool works are also included in our Parent Handbook, which we encourage you to look over prior to Spring Orientation.

To help us prepare for Spring Orientation, please fill out the Spring Orientation Form that was included in the Spring Orientation email by Sunday, May 5th. In it we are asking for your top three admin job preferences and any initial preferences you have for scheduling next year.

We’ll be sending out an agenda for Spring Orientation closer to the meeting. Until then, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Again, if you didn’t get the Spring Orientation email and think you should have, please email us to let us know. Thanks!
